Friedrich August von Eyff

Friedrich August von Eyff (* 1728 in Geldern , † after 1792) was a Prussian major . He was the last chief of the Szczecin Land Regiment .

Life

Origin and family

Friedrich August was a member of a Gelders family. A Prussian artillery officer named Eyff (Eiff) was raised to the hereditary Prussian nobility on December 11, 1705 . The sex is said to have belonged later to the Hessian nobility.

Career

Eyff served in the Prussian Army from 1747 . He proved himself in the Seven Years' War and in the Bavarian War of Succession . On January 16, 1781, he was promoted to major in Infantry Regiment No. 8 . On July 19, 1784, he was supplied as chief of the Szczecin Land Regiment . The regiment was disbanded in 1788. Until its dissolution it bore its name as "Stettinisches Landregiment von Eyff".
