Friedrich Carl August Boden (born March 30, 1844 in Einbeck ; † November 12, 1920 there ) was a German entrepreneur and brewery owner.

Life

Friedrich Boden was born in Einbeck in 1844 as the son of a long-established merchant family. He attended the Einbeck high school until he was 15 and then became a farmer . In November 1863 he went to Göttingen to study at the Georg-August-Universität with the agricultural chemist Wilhelm Wicke . In Göttingen he became active on November 10, 1863 in the connection Holzminda . After a two-year stay in Göttingen, he went back to Einbeck. In the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 he served as a medic . In Einbeck he founded the Domeier & Boden brewery together with Domeier in 1873 , which shortly after his death merged with the city brewery to form the Einbeck brewery . He applied for several patents relating to beer production. In Einbeck he also worked for many years as mayor . He died there in 1920.

In 1874 he married Marie Steinberg. The marriage produced five sons and one daughter. One of the sons was the Einbeck film actor and cabaret artist Wilhelm Bendow , another Karl Boden, a well-known geologist.
