Friedrich Christoph Kölpin

Friedrich Christoph Kölpin (also: Fridericus Christophorus Kölpin ) (* around 1750 in Uetersen , Holstein ; † around 1820 ) was a German-Danish doctor and author .

Life

Kölpin was the eldest of seven children of the Uetersen customs administrator Titus Kölpin . He attended the school of the Uetersen monastery under the rector and deacon Johann Christoph Wiese . His nephew was Alexander Kölpin , a German surgeon and university professor in Denmark-Norway . Kölpin studied medicine in Copenhagen from 1778 and was Royal Danish Surgeon from 1789. In 1793 he served as a Royal Prussian field doctor in the Prussian Army on the Rhine. He later settled in Stettin as a doctor and then worked as a surgeon in Copenhagen. As an author, Kölpin published treatises and observations of various healings on the human body in various specialist journals.
