Friedrich Gottlob Uhlemann

Friedrich Gottlob Uhlemann (born November 26, 1792 in Zeitz ; † April 19, 1864 ) was a German Protestant theologian , philosopher and orientalist .

Life

Uhlemann attended high school in his hometown. From 1812 he studied at the University of Leipzig , among others with Ernst Friedrich Karl Rosenmüller . Three years later he received a doctorate in philosophy, after which he was tutor until 1820 . After Friedrich Uhlemann had passed an examination pro facultate docendi in 1822 , he taught as a teacher at the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Berlin , which he did for 42 years. At the same time he was appointed a licentiate in theology in Berlin . In 1835 he was appointed associate professor of theology at the University of Berlin . In 1839 the University of Leipzig made him an honorary doctorate in theology. He was a member of the Berlin Masonic Lodge Zum Widder . Friedrich Gottlob Uhlemann died on April 19, 1864, his wife and children had already died.
