Friedrich Heineck

Friedrich Heineck (born March 28, 1880 in Rodheim-Bieber ; † November 29, 1979 in Budenheim ) was a German educator and scientist .

Life

After Friedrich Heineck had graduated from high school in Giessen in 1899 , he devoted himself to studying natural sciences at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . Heineck, who had worked there as an assistant at the mineralogical-geological institute since 1900 (including studying with Reinhard Brauns ), received his doctorate in spring 1903 before passing the state examination in the summer of the same year .

Friedrich Heineck then completed the seminar year followed by the probationary year at the secondary school in front of the Holstentore in Hamburg until he was able to work at higher schools in 1905. In the autumn of 1909 he took up a position as a high school teacher at the college for girls on Schloßplatz in Wiesbaden . Heineck - he was appointed senior director of studies in 1924 - retired in 1948.

Heineck was also in charge of the Natural History Museum Wiesbaden from 1924 to 1960 and of the Nassau Association for Natural History from 1925 to 1960, interrupted from 1938 to 1946 . The Wiesbaden Museum still houses a collection on the mineral kingdom according to Reinhard Brauns, which was one of the first didactic exhibitions. Heineck chaired the Alpine Association, was a member of the German Forest Protection Association and published the yearbooks of the Nassau Association for Natural History . He wrote several essays on mineralogy .
