. Frederick II of Habsburg (* 10. February 1327 , according to other sources until 1333 ; † December 4 , December 11 and 13. December 1344 in Neuberg ) was the son of Habsburg Otto the Gay / Bold (1301- 1339) and Elisabeth von Niederbayern (1305–1330), a daughter of Duke Stephan I of Bavaria . Leopold II von Habsburg was his younger brother.

In 1337 Friedrich was handed over to his aunt, the widowed Queen Agnes of Hungary , who resided in the Königsfelden monastery , for education. From 1339 he lived in Lenzburg Castle , where Prince Friedrich is said to have owned the Upper Austrian land. In 1339 he claimed Lower Bavaria as his mother's hereditary land.
