Friedrich Lammert

Friedrich Karl Lammert (born May 12, 1890 in Sondershausen ; † November 15, 1956 ) was a German classical philologist and historian.

Life

After graduating from high school in Sondershausen, Lammert studied in Jena and Heidelberg (with Franz Boll ) in 1908 and completed his studies in Jena in 1912 with a doctorate. In the same year he passed his teaching degree and became a teacher at the grammar school in Wernigerode . In 1919 he became head teacher at the High School of Our Lady in Magdeburg and 1923 teacher at Domgymnasium in Magdeburg. In 1927 he became director of studies at the Lauenburg School of Academics in Ratzeburg and in 1932 senior teacher at the School of Academics in Kiel . In 1938 he went to the high school in Bochum- Langendreer, whose director he became. From 1948 he was director of the Goethe School in Bochum .

Among other things, he dealt with Roman military history and Claudius Ptolemy (as a student of the Ptolemy specialist Boll). He wrote articles for Pauly-Wissowa .

Since 1924 he was a member of the Academy of Non-Profit Sciences in Erfurt .
