Friedrich Lesche

Friedrich Lesche (born June 30, 1863 in Göttingen ; † July 19, 1933 in Hamburg ) was a German SPD politician . In the German Empire and in the Weimar Republic he was a member of the Reichstag and member of the first board of directors of the cooperative-trade union insurance Volksfürsorge .

Live and act

Lesche attended the public school in Hanover from 1870 to 1877 . From 1877 to 1880 he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter . Until 1894 he worked as a carpenter journeyman. From 1894 to 1900 he worked as an employee at the general health insurance company in Altona . In 1883 he joined the SPD and became a union member. He was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of the Province of Schleswig-Holstein 10 in the 13th legislative period from 1903 to 1907, from 1919 to 1920 and from 1920 to 1925. Lesche was a member of the Hamburg parliament from 1910 to 1921.

From 1899 to 1905 and from 1916 to 1933 he was a member of the supervisory board of the Hamburger Konsum-, Bau- und Sparverein "Produktion" eGmbH.

Lesche was a founder of the trade union-cooperative insurance company Volksfürsorge , Hamburg, whose first board member he became with Adolph von Elm . Volksfürsorge started its business operations on July 1, 1913. Lesche was a member of the board there until his retirement in September 1932. He saw Volksfürsorge AG as a cooperative enterprise , despite the form of the AG that it had chosen . He named the large-scale purchasing society of German consumer associations and the Volksfürsorge in the same breath as socialist in character.

Lesche was a Protestant denomination and has left the church.
