Friedrich Müller (legal scholar)

Friedrich Müller (born January 22, 1938 in Eggenfelden in Bavaria ) is a German legal scholar from Heidelberg . His main research interests are in legal theory and legal linguistics . He has also published poems under the pseudonym Fedja Müller .

Life

Müller studied law in Erlangen-Nuremberg and at the Albert-Ludwigs-University , Freiburg im Breisgau . He passed the first and second state examinations in 1962 and 1967. In Freiburg i.Br. he was in 1964 with a record of the history of problems of freedom of association in the German Vormärz Dr. iur. doctorate and habilitation in 1968 as assistant to Konrad Hesse with his work on norm structure and normativity. Müller holds the teaching license ( Venia legendi ) for Staatsrecht , administrative law , Canon law , law and state philosophy as well as legal theory .

After working as a private and university lecturer in Freiburg i.Br. From 1968 to 1971 Müller received a full professor chair for public law, legal and state philosophy at the law faculty of Heidelberg University . There he acted from 1973 to 1975 as head of the department for public law , and from 1975 and 1979 as dean of the law faculty . In 1989 he was retired there for health reasons. Bodo Pieroth is one of his students .

Müller has been a freelance researcher and academic journalist since 1989 . He does international teaching and research, especially in South Africa and Brazil . Since 1998 he has been visiting professor at the Department of Public Law, University of Stellenbosch (Western Cape Province), since 2000 Research Fellow there, since 2002 visiting professor at the Pós-Graduação at the Universidade de Fortaleza (UNIFOR), Ceará-Brazil and from 2003 to 2006 freelance advisor to the federal government in Brasília ; as such, he developed a draft for judicial reform in Brazil.

Müller also works as a poet, prose writer and translator. He has been publishing poetry and prose since the early 1980s. He was u. a. Associate editor of Van Goghs Ohr literary magazine .
