Friedrich Meuser
Friedrich Meuser (born November 30, 1938 in Hahnstätten ) is a German food technologist , cereal researcher and professor emeritus at the TU Berlin (TUB). The focus of his research activities is in the field of mechanical, thermal and biotechnological treatment of starches and raw materials containing starch.
Life
Meuser was born to Helma and Paul Meuser; he grew up near Limburg an der Lahn . The father died in 1946 in Polish captivity. From 1944 to 1948 Meuser attended elementary school in Hahnstätten and from 1948 to 1954 the secondary school in Diez . He then completed an apprenticeship as a brewer at the Nassauische Privatbrauerei in Hahnstätten from 1954 to 1956 , where he had previously worked during the school holidays. He then worked for three years at the König brewery in Duisburg, where he also attended evening high school from 1957 to 1960 . In 1961 he obtained his university entrance qualification at a grammar school in Limburg . From 1961 to 1965 he studied food technology with a focus on brewery technology at the Technical University in Berlin (TUB). From 1965 he was employed as a research assistant at the Federal Research Center for Grain Processing in Berlin. In 1969 he did his doctorate on the influence of hydrogen phosphide fumigation on the ingredients and technological properties of grain at Matëi Rohrlich at the TUB. In 1972 he began teaching at the TUB. In 1974 he received the newly established chair for grain technology at the TUB.
On behalf of the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), he supervised the establishment of an institute for grain and oil seeds for the Chinese Ministry of Internal Trade in Beijing. From 1992 to 1994 Meuser was on the board of the American Association of Cereal Chemists .
In 1997 Meuser initiated the establishment of a company for the development and manufacture of laboratory decanter centrifuges , of which he has been a scientific advisor since then.

Meuser was the editor of the ten-volume series of publications in the field of grain technology at the Institute for Food Technology and Fermentation Technology at the Technical University of Berlin as well as the conference papers of the International Symposium on Plant Polymeric Carbohydrates and other food technology conferences
