Friedrich Schiedel

Friedrich Schiedel (born September 13, 1913 in Baierz ; † March 28, 2001 in Grünburg ) was a German entrepreneur and patron .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1931, Friedrich Schiedel began studying engineering in civil engineering and road construction. Until 1945 he held a leading position in the Todt Organization. After the Second World War, Schiedel founded the Erbacher Bauwaren company , which soon specialized in the manufacture of chimneys . In the years that followed, he moved the company's headquarters to Munich and set up several production and sales facilities in Germany and Austria.

In 1990 he transferred the Schiedel group of companies to Braas GmbH, which today belongs to Braas Monier .

Friedrich Schiedel is an honorary citizen of Bad Wurzach and an honorary senator of the Technical University of Munich . He is the holder of the Cross of Merit First Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Great Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria . He was also awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit and, on April 25, 1992, the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg . In his honor, the Wangen industrial school was renamed the Friedrich Schiedel School.
