Friedrich Wilhelm Mosqua
Friedrich Wilhelm Mosqua (born August 2, 1759 in Danzig , † April 1826 in Berlin ) was a Prussian court clerk and criminal inspector .
Life
After various professional positions in "lower judicial offices in the legal hierarchy" at West Prussian courts, Mosqua was appointed director of the city court and higher tax office in Posen in 1793 . In June 1796 he was also inquisitor publicus and chief fiscal authority in Warsaw .
After the fire at the Mniszech Palace in Warsaw in 1805, Mosqua bought the building from the Potocki brothers , after which he had it repaired and a concert hall built. The music society "Harmonia", founded by the musician E. T. A. Hoffmann , who also lives there, had its seat under the hall .
During the advance of the French in the Fourth Coalition War , he fled to Königsberg in 1807 , where he worked as a chief tax officer and assessor at the city court.
In the spring of 1808, under the impression of the French occupation after the Peace of Tilsit , he tried to establish a “German Confederation” with the aim of “liberating and establishing the fatherland”. However, he could not convince his lodge brothers of the proposed statutes, so that the group broke up after an initial consultation on April 7th without having achieved anything. Then the Tugendbund joined on the first day of its existence, but he was not a founding member here.
At the end of 1811 he was transferred to the Berlin Higher Regional Court as inquirer and criminal counselor .
