Friedrich Wilhelm Pohle (born January 5, 1830 in Tragnitz near Leisnig , † November 11, 1892 in Loschwitz near Dresden ) was a German chronicler and cantor .

Life

Pohle received his training at the Dresden Freiherrlich von Fletcher teacher seminar and became a teacher at the 5th district school in Dresden. In 1866 he took a job as a teacher in the village of Loschwitz near Dresden and became cantor of Loschwitz. At that time he was the first official holder of this title and held his post until his death. On 25 March 1884 he founded in Loschwitz in the tradition of Saxon student choirs , the "Cantorei", a boy and male choir. Under his successor Friedrich Kettner , the Cantorei was converted into a mixed choir.

Pohle became particularly important as the first chronicler of Loschwitz. In 1883 and again in 1886 his Chronik von Loschwitz was published , in which he addresses , among other things, the critical condition of the Loschwitz Church , which was only renovated around 1900. Pohles "importance for the Loschwitz-Wachwitz local history is fundamental", he associated with Friedrich Wieck , Gustav Wilhelm Teschner and Heinrich Dorn , among others . The latter put Pohle in his biography Ostracismus. A court shards a literary monument.

Pohle died in Loschwitz in 1892. His grave is in the church cemetery of the Loschwitz church.
