from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich Clem or Klemme , also called Friedrich the Little or Friedrich von Dresden , (* 1273 in Dresden (?); † April 25, 1316 ibid. (?)) From the Wettin dynasty was ruled over Dresden. He also referred to himself as the Margrave of Dresden.

Life

Friedrich was the youngest son of Margrave Heinrich the Illustrious and his third wife Elisabeth von Maltitz .

In order to prevent inheritance disputes with the sons from his father's first marriage, he and his mother were raised to the rank of imperial prince by Rudolf I in 1278 .

In 1287 he received the cities of Dresden, Tharandt , Radeberg and Grossenhain as inheritance from his father . Friedrich saw himself as Margrave of Dresden, although there was no Margraviate Dresden per se. His title in the documents changed from "dominus de Dresden" (Lord of Dresden) to "marchio de Dresden" (Margrave of Dresden). But as early as 1289 he wanted to sell his property to the Bohemian crown (contract on March 12, 1289). But this did not come about due to the objection of his nephew, Margrave Friedrich Tuta . On September 11, 1289, however, his nephew bought all of his possessions except Dresden. Friedrich had already sold Dresden to Waldemar von Brandenburg . Friedrich died on April 25, 1316 in Dresden and was buried in the Altzella monastery. After his death, the remains of his father's inheritance fell to his cousin Friedrich the bitten , since Friedrich had no male descendants .

Friedrich's wife Jutta von Schwarzburg-Blankenburg , whom he married around 1305, died in 1329 and was buried in the Ilm monastery .
