Life
Born in 1812 as the son of Vinzenz Ferrerius von Bianchi , he joined the Austrian army in 1829 and was appointed lieutenant in the Imperial and Royal Infantry Regiment No. 3 a year later. In 1846 he was promoted to colonel and commander of the Imperial and Royal Infantry Regiment No. 47. He led this at the outbreak of the revolution of 1848 in Venice as a colonel, fought under Nugent in Italy in 1849 at Sona , Custozza and Volta and in 1849 commanded a brigade of the II Army Corps. His leadership during the Battle of Novara led to his being awarded the Knight's Cross of the Austro-Imperial Leopold Order .
In 1849 he took part in the Hungarian campaign as major general and was promoted to field marshal lieutenant at the end of that year. Bianchi became divisional commander in the Serbian-Banat army corps in 1854, led a command at Jassy in Moldova from 1855 to 1857 and finally took his leave as a field marshal lieutenant.
General von Bianchi was married to Leonharda (Leonie) von Beckers zu Westerstetten, daughter of Field Marshal Lieutenant Joseph Heinrich von Beckers zu Westerstetten (1764-1840) , who came from the Electoral Palatinate .
Their daughter Julie (1853–1879) married Count Albert Marzani von Stainhof and Neuhaus (1845–1921) in Graz in 1875. She died three weeks after the birth of her first child in Graz, ten days before she turned 26.
