Friedrich von Gemmingen (1823–1882)

Friedrich von Gemmingen (born December 15, 1823 , † December 29, 1882 in Stuttgart ) was an Imperial and Royal Chamberlain , landlord in Neckarzimmern and owner of Hornberg Castle .

Life

He was a son of Ernst von Gemmingen (1794–1838) and Charlotte Anna Maria von Horneck (1800–1863). He was brought up in his parents' house, then attended the Lyceum in Mannheim and the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe . In 1838 he entered the Imperial and Royal Engineering Academy in Vienna , and in 1844 became a lieutenant in the Imperial and Royal 1st Cuirassier Regiment . In 1858 he resigned from the army. In 1855 he had become an Imperial and Royal Chamberlain. He inherited Hornberg Castle and the associated property in Neckarzimmern and other places from his father, who died early. He lived partly in Stuttgart and partly in Neckarzimmern.

He was first buried in the Neckarzimmern cemetery. When a new chapel was built at Hornberg Castle a little later, he was reburied in the castle cemetery.

He married Pauline Freiin vom Holtz (1837–1921) on April 4, 1867.
