Friedrich von Hedemann-Heespen

Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Otto von Hedemann-Heespen (* August 21, 1827 in Deutsch-Nienhof ; † January 14, 1905 there ) was a Schleswig-Holstein landowner, politician and administrative lawyer .

Friedrich von Hedemann-Heespen was a son of Johann Friedrich von Hedemann-Heespen and his wife Emma Thecla Agnes, née von Saldern. He had a sister. After attending the monastery high school in Magdeburg and the Haller Pedagogy , he began his law studies at the University of Bonn in 1848 and became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . He later studied in Kiel and Berlin. As a lieutenant in the 2nd Jägerkorps of the Schleswig-Holstein Army , he fought in the battle of Idstedt in 1850 .

After completing his studies in 1853, von Hedemann-Heespen worked as an official secretary in Pinneberg until 1855 . In 1856 he moved to Itzehoe in the same position , where he stayed until 1858. In 1855/56 he traveled to the Middle East and countries in the Mediterranean. He then learned farming at Gut Quarnbek and leased the Deutsch-Nienhof estate in 1860. After the father's death he continued to run the estate as his inheritance. He worked efficiently and economically, reforested large areas of the property that had previously not brought in sufficient yields and redesigned the villages. With this he paid off the remaining debts resulting from the special features of the family entailment commission. He left a great fortune to his family.

From 1875 to 1889 von Hedemann-Heespen belonged to the Schleswig-Holstein Provincial Landtag. From 1890 to 1903 he was the district chairman of the Rendsburg district .

Friedrich von Hedemann-Heespen married Anna Laura Kunigunde Countess von Reventlow on February 24, 1860 in Kiel (born November 5, 1841 in Bordesholm ; † October 20, 1927 in Vossloch ). The couple had seven sons and two daughters, including Paul von Hedemann-Heespen and Hartwig von Hedemann-Heespen . Three of the sons and one daughter died at a young age.
