(2529) Rockwell Kent is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on August 21, 1977 by the Russian astronomer Nikolai Stepanowitsch Tschernych at the Crimean Observatory ( observatory code 095) in Nautschnyj .

The asteroid was named after the American painter and graphic artist Rockwell Kent (1882–1971) who illustrated the novel Moby-Dick by Herman Melville with pen drawings.
