Friendswood is a city in Galveston County and Harris County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

geography

The city is 45 km northwest of Galveston and 32 km south of Houston in northwest Galveston County and extends into Harris County. In the southeast the city is about 40 km from the Gulf of Mexico and has a total area of ​​54.4 km² without any significant water surface.

history

The city was named after the official name Religious Society of Friends of the Quakers when they moved from Kansas to Texas.
