Fritz Brauer (politician, 1883)

Fritz Brauer (born October 18, 1883 in Buchen , Wirsitz district ; † May 31, 1970 ) was a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in the German Democratic Republic (GDR). From 1946 to 1950 he was a member of the state parliament of Brandenburg and from 1949 to 1954 a member of the first people 's chamber .

Life

After elementary school , graduating from high school in Bromberg and training as a forest manager, Brauer became a professional soldier and officer and was a member of the German People's Party (DVP). In 1918 he ended his military career and worked in wood and forestry until 1945.

After the end of the Second World War , Brauer was one of the founders of the CDU in Germany's Soviet zone of occupation . Until 1946 he was a member of the CDU district committee in Potsdam and then head of the committee for forestry, regional culture and nature conservation at the CDU regional association Brandenburg . At the same time he was a member of the committee for agriculture and forestry of the CDU federal association.

From 1946 to 1950, Brauer was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament in Potsdam and a member of the Presidium there. From 1947 to 1951 Brauer was a member of the main committee of the main board of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) and was the only representative of a “bourgeois” party there. From September 1948 to 1954 he was also a member of the extended main board of the CDU . From November 1948 to September 1949 he was a member of the plenary session of the German Economic Commission .

From May 1949 Brauer was a member of the German People's Council and then until 1954 a member of the People's Chamber. From 1950 he was also a member of the GDR Land Chamber . From 1950 he was also deputy chairman of the CDU state executive committee in Brandenburg. In 1950/51, Brauer was significantly involved in the “All-German Working Group for Agriculture and Forestry”.
