Fritz Brechtel

Fritz Brechtel (* 1955 in Herxheim near Landau / Pfalz ) is a German biologist and politician ( CDU ).

Career

After graduating from high school in Germersheim , Brechtel studied biology and sport at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the University of Karlsruhe from 1973 . In 1986 he received his doctorate . He then worked as an environmental officer at the Rheinhessen-Pfalz district government and group leader at the State Office for Environmental Protection and Trade Supervision in Oppenheim . From 1993 to 2001 Brechtel was department head at the Museum of Natural History in Karlsruhe .

As a member of the CDU Brechtel was in the council of Rulzheim and the local council of the same municipality selected. From 1991 to 2001 he was an honorary alderman in the district of Germersheim . In 2001 he prevailed in the first direct election to the district administrator . He was re-elected in 2009 and 2017.

On June 11, 2019, the association assembly of the Sparkassenverband Rheinland-Pfalz elected Dr. Fritz Brechtel as the new chairman of the association.

Private

His son is the soccer player Patrick Brechtel .
