The Verbandsgemeinde Rülzheim is an administrative unit in the legal form of a regional authority in the district of Germersheim ( Rhineland-Palatinate ). The Verbandsgemeinde has four independent local communities , the administrative seat is in the eponymous local community of Rülzheim .

history
The Verbandsgemeinde Rülzheim was re-established in 1972, like all the association communities in the then administrative district Rheinhessen-Pfalz , on the basis of the “Thirteenth State Law on Administrative Simplification in the State of Rhineland-Palatinate”.

Association municipal council
The Verbandsgemeinderat Rülzheim consists of 32 honorary council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the full-time mayor as chairman. Before the 2019 election, the municipal council had 28 council members.

The mayor is directly elected for a term of eight years.
In the election on May 25, 2014, Matthias Schardt (CDU) was elected with 58.9 percent approval. He replaces Reiner Hör, who has been in office since 2006 and is also the local mayor of Rülzheim.

The coat of arms description reads: “In a shield border of blue and gold, quartered with silver and black, with a pinnacle, top right a silver mark in the form of a fallen V, top left a black horseshoe with downward sloping studs, bottom right a black fish hook, bottom left a armored silver arm, holding a silver cross clasp. "
It was approved by the Neustadt district government in 1980 and contains figures from the coats of arms of the four local communities.
