Friedrich (Fritz) Karl Adolph Pfuhl (born May 20, 1853 in Pyritz , † July 16, 1913 in Misdroy ) was a German teacher and botanist . Its botanical author abbreviation is " Pfuhl ".

Life

Fritz Pfuhl attended the Royal Friedrich Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Poznan and passed the school leaving examination in February 1873. He then studied at the University of Berlin chemistry, botany and ancient languages and in 1878 at the University of Giessen Dr. phil. PhD .

In May 1878 Fritz Pfuhl was permanently employed as a teacher at the Mariengymnasium in Posen.

The Royal Academy in Poznan

From autumn 1903 he worked in addition to his teaching at the grammar school as a professor at the Royal Academy in Posen .

Fritz Pfuhl founded the journal of the Natural Science Association of the Province of Posen, as well as the scientific collection of the Kaiser Friedrich Museum in Posen. The Herbarium included in 1913 it already has 30,000 documents. At the Mariengymnasium he created a much-noticed plant garden based on his biological method.

On January 6, 1904, Friedrich (Fritz) Karl Adolph Pfuhl was appointed to the botany section with matriculation no. Elected to the Leopoldina in 3173 .
