Fritz Raab (writer)

Fritz Raab (born April 2, 1925 in Siegen , † February 11, 2010 in Hamburg ) was a German writer and radio editor . He created the comic series "Taró" for Stern, which appeared until 1968. For several years he was the head of the Norddeutscher Rundfunk's youth studio . His best-known novels are "The Monument" and "City Theater".

Life

After the war and his studies, Fritz Raab began working as a freelance writer in 1949. He has written about 250 radio and 50 television manuscripts. He also published several children's books. In 1959 he created the comic series “Taró” for Stern magazine , which broke through the scheme of conventional adventure series through extensive background research and exceptional display quality. The character "Taró - the Indian" appeared for a long time in the supplement of the "STERN" for children " Sternchen ". This comic series, then called "Picture Story", was illustrated by FW Richter-Johnsen.
