Fritz Rauda

Fritz Rauda (born October 13, 1879 in Klingenthal / Sa .; † February 14, 1945 in Heidenau ) was a German architect and university professor .

Live and act

After graduating from high school in Schneeberg , Rauda studied architecture at the Technical University of Dresden from 1899 to 1903 . During his studies in 1899 he became a member of the Erato Dresden singers . After completing his studies, he also took the subjects of painting and drawing at the Dresden School of Applied Arts .

After receiving his doctorate in engineering, Rauda was Cornelius Gurlitt's assistant from 1903 to 1920 in the inventory of art monuments in Saxony. From 1906 he also worked as a building officer at the Zittau State Building School . In 1911 he switched to the Dresden State Building School . Rauda completed his habilitation in 1919 at the Technical University of Dresden and in 1924 was appointed associate professor for the field of building surveying and the history of building and craftsmanship in Saxony. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .

Fritz Rauda is the author of scientific works, including on Arnold von Westfalen , the builder of the Albrechtsburg in Meißen , (1928) and the city of Meißen (1928, in the German Art Guide series ).

Fritz Rauda is the father of Wolfgang Rauda .
