He received his doctorate here the following year and from 1931 to 1933 also worked as an assistant at the Zwingerbauhütte in Dresden. Until 1971, Rauda was in charge of the urban planning department at the Technical University of Hanover, today Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hanover .
Wolfgang Rauda was a member of numerous international professional associations and the Association of German Architects (BDA). He was the grandfather of the book author Christian Rauda .
Act
As an urban planner, he viewed Le Corbusier critically and preferred the European urban building tradition, in which individual originality was given up in favor of adapting to the overall urban appearance. At the “ Güntzpalast ” in Dresden, Rauda created a slightly recessed perimeter block development facing Güntzstrasse, while he designed a small piazza with a fountain facing Striesener Strasse . In 1951 he built the Bethlehem Church in Tolkewitz . The student residence at Fritz-Löffler-Straße 16/18 was also designed by Rauda.
Fonts
In 1956 he published the standard work spatial problems in European urban planning , and in 1957 the standard work Lebendige Städtebauiche Raumbildung - Asymmetry and Rhythm in the German City followed .
