Hubert Georg Ermisch
Hubert Georg Ermisch (born September 21, 1883 in Dresden ; † November 11, 1951 there ) was a German architect .
Life
The son of archivist Hubert Maximilian Ermisch received his doctorate from the Technical University of Dresden in 1917 .
As head of the Zwingerbauhütte , he restored the Dresden Zwinger from 1924 to 1936 , after it had been damaged by the Battle of Dresden in 1813 and during the Dresden May Uprising in 1849 , and the makeshift repairs carried out up to then damaged the sandstone of the Zwinger more than good had.
In parallel to the reconstructions of the Zwinger, Ermisch restored the Semper paintings in the Japanese Palace in Dresden from 1927 to 1935. After 1945, Ermisch was again active as director of the reconstruction of the Dresden Zwinger. The Kronentor and the long galleries of the Zwinger could be restored until his death . He wrote several works on the Zwinger, the Japanese Palace and other buildings in and around Dresden. After Ermisch's death, Max Zimmermann took over the rebuilding of the kennel. Ermisch was buried in the Johannisfriedhof in Dresden .
