Oyle , pronounced owl , is a village in the Nienburg / Weser district in Lower Saxony . It belongs to the municipality of Marklohe and is located about 10 km west of the district town of Nienburg / Weser .

history

On March 1, 1974, Oyle was incorporated into the community of Marklohe.

Culture and sights

Memorial for the founding of the United North German Liedertafeln on the wall of the Alte Schanze
  • In the village there is a manor from the 14th century, which consists of two farms. It is run as an agricultural and forestry business and is owned by the von Arenstorff family .
  • A memorial made of several boulders was erected on the Oyler Berg around 1890 to commemorate the founding of the North German Liedertafeln in 1831.
  • There is the Alte Schanze , which is a hill fort from the 9th to 11th centuries.
  • There is an old water mill in Oyle.

Economy and Infrastructure

In Oyle there is an asphalt mixing plant, an ostrich farm and a sports field.

A bus line of the Weser-Ems bus connects the village with Marklohe and Sudhalenbeck . Oyle also has a bus connection to Nienburg / Weser and Liebenau via Marklohe, Binnen, Bühren. A bus line runs from Steyerberg to Nienburg / Weser. Oyle is on the Nienburg – Rahden railway line , which is not served by local rail transport. State road 351 runs through the village. In the north, federal road 6 and federal road 214 pass Oyle.
