history

Old logo of the Weser-Ems-Bus

In the mid-twenties, the first buses served the Weser-Ems region, in which bus conductors still rode until the sixties. At that time, either the yellow post buses or the red rail buses served the bus routes.

In 1982 the Postbuses were incorporated into the Deutsche Bundesbahn . Little by little, 18 rail bus business units (GBB) were created, including GBB Weser-Ems. This became Weser-Ems Busverkehr GmbH in 1988 as part of four privatization pilot projects.

Since 2008, under the brand DB Bahn summarized the entire offer of Deutsche Bahn for passenger services, which is why the Weser-Ems buses since under the brand DB Bahn Weser-Ems Bus is marketed. In the course of the renaming, Weser-Ems Busverkehr also received a changed logo. For a few years now, DB Bahn Weser-Ems Bus has only been called DB Weser-Ems Bus

From July 1, 2017, the Weser-Ems-Bus has added the line bundle around Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Oyten and Achim. The "ex-operators *" of the lines have been operating on behalf of the Weser-Ems bus to date.

February 1, 2019: The Weser-Ems-Bus has won the line bundle around Rotenburg (W).
