Fritz Schwarz (legal historian)

Fritz Schwarz (born July 16, 1905 in Danzig ; † November 21, 1974 in Marburg ) was a German legal historian .

From 1924 to 1930 he studied law at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and from 1930 to 1932 classical philology and comparative linguistics. He became a member of the NSDAP . After completing his doctorate in 1932 with Eduard Norden in Berlin as a Dr. phil. , the doctorate in 1943 with Paul Koschaker ibid for Dr. iur. and his habilitation in 1950 in Münster , he taught from 1955 to 1961 as a professor for Roman and German civil law and international private law in Mainz and from 1961 to 1970 as a professor at the University of Marburg .
