Fritz Votava

Fritz Votava (born January 11, 1906 in Berlin ; † November 4, 1989 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Votava trained as a bank accountant and joined the SPD in 1926. From 1927 to 1929 he attended the German School of Politics and became an editor . After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933, Votava had to make ends meet as a warehouse worker and driver . He was drafted in World War II .

After the war, Votava became a member of the Central Youth Committee. In 1949 he moved to the city ​​council of Greater Berlin , since Wilhelm Birnbaum (1895–1980) was district councilor of Berlin-Neukölln . He was also elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in 1950 . In 1955 he moved back into the Berlin House of Representatives , as Erich Raddatz (1886–1964) was now a district councilor in Neukölln. In the Berlin election in 1954 , Votava was re-elected, but already resigned in January 1959, because now he himself became Neukölln's district councilor for youth and sport. He held this office until his retirement in 1971.
