Fritz Weidemann

Fritz Weidemann (born January 1, 1871 in Neustadt in Holstein ; † after 1918) was a German actor in the theater and in silent films .

Life

The actor, who was born in Neustadt in Holstein and made a name for himself on the German stage with numerous roles in classical plays, also appeared in silent films between 1911 and 1918.

After entering the film business with a sound image , Weidemann starred in several Urban Gad films with Asta Nielsen in 1912/13 , appeared in Stellan Rye 's first student from Prague with Paul Wegener in 1913 , and in 1916 in a film with Henny Porten directed by Rudolf Biebrach . In the same year he directed himself : in a drama called Jihad .

The Carl Auen crime thriller Warren's diary from 1918, in which he stood in front of the camera with Lori Leux and Erner Hübsch , is the last film he knows about .

Fritz Weidemann is obviously not identical with the opera singer Friedrich Weidemann , although the same date of birth is given for him; However, he was born on January 1, 1871 in Ratzeburg . Until his death on January 30, 1919, he was a member of the Vienna Court Opera.
