Froneben (also Fronebenalm ) is a managed alpine pasture in the Schlick , above the Stubai Valley . It is located at 1306  m above sea level. A. and can be reached from Fulpmes and Plöven .

The first mention of Froneben found in Urbar of Wilten of 1305. Accordingly, the pin has a "Swaige ze Varneben" (a Schwaighof to Froneben). In the Atlas Tyrolensis of 1774, Froneben is already shown as such.

Approach

The ascent takes place over the forest path from the valley station of the Kreuzjochbahn or over the Plövnerjoch from Plöven in 1 ½ – 2 hours. Both trails are also suitable for mountain bikers. The Fronebenalm can be reached in a few minutes from the slightly higher Froneben middle station , next to which the Gasthaus Bruggeralm is located.

In winter, the Alm is located on the valley run from the middle station to the valley station and can be reached directly on skis.
