Telfer Wiesen is a place in the Stubai Valley in Tyrol and belongs to the municipality of Telfes im Stubai in the Innsbruck-Land district .

geography

The Telfer Wiesen are located about 10 kilometers south of Innsbruck city ​​center . They form the left shoulder of the valley on the sunny side at the entrance to the Stubai Valley from Wipptal , the Ruetz already flowing about 200 meters below. The Stubaitalbahn  ( STB ) runs through the area after it turns into the Stubai. About Schönberg , at the northeast end of the village, is located at 1002  m above sea level. A. the largely lonely Telfer Wiesen station . It was only created in 1983 from a loading sway that was connected on both sides for train crossings. Today it functions as a stop on demand and is mainly frequented by excursion guests: Because the Telfer Wiesen in the remote area is not accessible by any road, the railway line is the only mobile access.

Nature and tourism

The Telfer Wiesen area is one of the most beautiful larch meadows in Tyrol. It is also known for the rich gentian blossoms in spring.

As an easy hiking area that can be reached directly from Innsbruck, the area is a popular local recreational area in the city. There are scenic walks and hikes.
