The Innsbruck judicial district is a judicial district in the state of Tyrol that is subordinate to the Innsbruck District Court . The judicial district includes the state capital Innsbruck and parts of the Innsbruck-Land district . The Innsbruck judicial district is one of three judicial districts in the Innsbruck-Land district , along with Hall in Tirol and Telfs .

history

The forerunner in the organization of the Innsbruck judicial district was the imperial district court Sonnenburg with its seat in Wilten . The district court of Sonnenburg, which was established in the 13th century (named after the lost Sonnenburg castle ) and the almost equally old Innsbruck city court, were merged under Bavarian rule in 1807 to form the Innsbruck district court, which resumed its activities as an imperial district court in 1817 after Tyrol returned to Austria .

The Innsbruck judicial district was created by an announcement made by the State Court Introductory Commission in 1849 and originally comprised the 21 communities of Ambras , Aldrans , Amras , Birgitz , Götzens , Grieß , Grünzens , Hötting , Igls , Innsbruck , Kemathen , Lans , Mutters , Natters , Patsch , Sellrain , Sistrans , St. Sigmund , Vill , Völs and Wilten . The judicial district of Innsbruck made political from judicial administration from 1868 as part of the separation, together with the jurisdictions Hall , Mieders , Steinach and Telfs the district Innsbruck area , with the city of Innsbruck became the Statutory own district administration.

After the First World War , the Mieders judicial district was dissolved by an ordinance of the federal government of March 29, 1923 and the area of ​​the judicial district was assigned to the Innsbruck judicial district on June 1, 1923. The municipalities of Arzl and Mühlau were removed from the judicial district of Hall in Tirol and the communities of Leutasch , Reith bei Seefeld , Scharnitz and Seefeld in Tirol from the judicial district of Telfs and added to the judicial district of Innsbruck by an ordinance of the Federal Chancellery of July 13, 1925 .

By a further ordinance of the federal government of March 1, 1977 the judicial district Steinach was also abandoned and its area was added to the judicial district Innsbruck on July 1, 1977. The judicial district was expanded to include the municipalities of the Wipptals Gries am Brenner , Gschnitz , Matrei am Brenner , Mühlbachl , Navis , Obernberg am Brenner , Pfons , Schmirn , Steinach am Brenner , Trins and Vals , increasing the area from 1,080.85 km² on 1537.74 km².
