history

The judicial district of Riva was created by a proclamation of the Provincial Court Introductory Commission passed in 1849 and originally comprised the six communities of Cologna , Nago , Pranzo , Riva , Tenno and Ville del Monte .

The judicial district of Riva formed in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 together with the judicial district of Arco, the district of Riva . The judicial district of Riva had a population of 8,578 in 1869.

On March 24, 1872, the re-established judicial district of Val di Ledro was also subordinated to the Riva district .

In 1910, 13,223 people were expelled from the judicial district, of whom 1,124 gave German (4.0%) and 10,426 Italian or Ladin (78.8%) as their colloquial language. The German-speaking minority concentrated on the municipality of Riva, with around two thirds of the German-speaking people in the municipality of Riva being military.

Due to the border provisions of the Treaty of Saint-Germain concluded on September 10, 1919 , the judicial district of Riva was completely slammed into Italy.
