The judicial district Sillian was a judicial district in the district of Lienz (state of Tyrol ). In 1925, the Sillian District Court had to cease operations and hand over its agendas to the Lienz District Court .

history

The judicial district of Sillian was, alongside the judicial district of Lienz and the judicial district of Matrei in East Tyrol, one of the original three judicial districts of the Lienz district. The district court was responsible for the communities Abfaltersbach , Arnbach , utservillgraten , Hollbruck , Innervillgraten , Innichberg , Innichen , Kartitsch , Obertilliach , Panzendorf , Sexten , Sillian , Sillianberg , Strassen , Tessenberg , Untertilliach , Vierschach , Wahlen and Winnebach .

The judicial district of Sillian covered an area of 643 km 2 in 1890 . In 1869 there were 9,862 people living here, in 1890 there were 9,684 people in 1,586 houses. Of the total population in 1890, 99.9% were Catholic. After the end of the First World War, Austria had to cede the municipalities of Innichberg, Innichen, Sexten, Vierschach, Wahlen and Winnebach to Italy by the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1919 , which greatly reduced the size of the judicial district. With the ordinance of the federal government of March 29, 1923, the Sillian judicial district was subsequently dissolved and the municipalities remaining with Austria were added to the Lienz judicial district. According to the original plan, the Sillian District Court had to cease its activities on March 31, 1923 and the Lienz District Court to take over jurisdiction over the new areas on June 1, 1923. Ultimately, however, this change did not take place until September 30, 1925 or October 1, 1925.
