Fugitive Dancer is an English-speaking indie pop band from Ulm .

history

Fugitive Dancer was founded in autumn 2008. The two singers and long-time friends, Maxim Skrïpko and Sebastian Krichler, met the pianist Julian Klein while studying in Neu-Ulm. The first pieces with the drummer Marius Stehle were written on the premises of the university.

In the spring of 2009 the band recorded their debut EP Spark of the Fugitive Dancer together with Jadwiga Seelig on the cello in the Toninfusion Studio, which was then still in Ulm . The EP was self-released in July 2009. This was followed by several appearances in southern Germany, for example in the Ulm tent and at the orchard festival .

In 2010, the recordings for the album Brother from Another Mother began in the rest noise studio in Ingolstadt. The producer was Holger Krzywon, who is known for productions and recordings by The Notwist , Slut , Sportfreunde Stiller and Die Sterne . The album was self-released in June 2011. Since its release, the band has been writing a small but steady success story - they are now touring all over Germany on a regular basis and their album has received extremely positive reviews in the media, including from the well-known music journalist of the Musikexpress , Josef Winkler .

During the studio recordings for their debut album, Fugitive Dancer first worked with bassist Andreas Miehle (Maestro's Memorial). This then became a permanent member.

In the spring of 2011 the band performed with Marit Larsen on Petrusplatz in Neu-Ulm, which brought them national fame and then an appearance on SWR television . During the year the band played their first two nationwide tours.

The band is currently working on their next release.
