Fulladu East (spelling variant: Fuladu East ) is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative division - in the West African state of Gambia . It is one of four districts in the Upper River Region .
According to a calculation from 2013 about 107,442 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 2003 was 98,454.
The name is derived from Fulladu , a former small empire.

According to a survey from 1993 (census at the time), the Serahule made up the largest population group with a share of around four-tenths, followed by the Fula and the Mandinka. The distribution in detail: 26.4% Mandinka , 27.3% Fula , 0.5% Wolof , 0.3% Jola , 43.2% Serahule , 0.4% Serer , 0.1% Aku , 0.2 % Manjago , 0.9% Bambara and 0.8% other ethnic groups.
