description

Furcraea foetida grows without a trunk or forms a short trunk. The obovate-lanceolate leaves are more or less flat, wavy and rough on the underside. The first description as Agave foetida by Carl von Linné in Species Plantarum was published in 1753. Adrian Hardy Haworth placed the species in the genus Furcraea in 1812 . Furcraea foetida is classified in the genus in the section Furcraea .
