Fuscoporia is a genus of fungus that has been separated from the fire sponges in the narrower sense ( Phellinus s. Str. ).
The type species is the rust-brown fire sponge ( Fuscoporia ferruginosa ).
features
The annual hymenophore of the wood dwellers is relatively thin, poured out or console-shaped and sometimes lies flat on the substrate. The often thin [Context] ( Trama ) is brown. The short, brown, and unlayered tubes are usually regular, small, and thin-walled. The round to spherical spores are smooth-walled and colorless. Cystides are almost always present. The pores vary in size with 2–7 per mm. They are hexagonal or irregular in shape and sometimes become labyrinthine.
