Fwayo Tembo (born May 2, 1989 in Lusaka , Zambia ) is a Zambian football player . He has been under contract with Power Dynamos since April 2016 .

Career

Tembo grew up in Shantytown Mtendendere (part of the capital Lusaka) and played football there for the Edusport Lusaka neighborhood club . In January 2006 he signed with the National Assembly FC in Lusaka. At the end of 2007 he left Zambia and moved to Étoile Sportive du Sahel in the Tunisian football championship .

On May 29, 2010 Tembo signed with FC Basel , where he has played in the first team since the 2010/11 season . His preferred position is in the storm , but his coach Thorsten Fink mostly uses him in midfield . On July 20, 2010, he made his debut at St. Jakob-Park in a 3-2 home win against FC Zurich . He scored his first goal in the 1: 4 home defeat against FC Luzern on August 14, 2010 and he used his first penalty at the Stade de Suisse on April 10, 2011 in a 3: 3 against BSC Young Boys . In the 2010/2011 season, Fwayo Tembo became Swiss champions with FC Basel.

His former club Étoile Sportive du Sahel announced in January 2012 that Fwayo Tembo would return to Tunisia on loan for a year. After returning to Basel, he was transferred to Astra Giurgiu in Romania in summer 2012 . After he had been an integral part of the team in the 2012/13 season , he hardly got a chance in the 2013/14 season and thus had only a small share in the runner-up and winning the Romanian Cup . After the end of the 2014/15 season he was without a club for three months before Astra signed him again until the end of 2015. It was only used three times. In April 2016, he joined the Power Dynamos in his home country. A loan deal with the Israeli first division club Hapoel Ra'anana ended in August 2016 after just two weeks.
