Gérard Blaize
Gérard Blaize (born August 17, 1946 in Toulouse ) is a French teacher of Aikidō , Masakatsu Bōjutsu and Jōdō . He has the 7th Dan Aikikai ( Tokyo ), 5th Dan Masakatsu Bōjutsu (conferred by Hikitsuchi Michio) and the 7th Dan Jōdō (Shinto Muso Ryu).
biography
Blaize began to train judo and aikido under the guidance of Pierre Brousse. He later lived in Japan for five and a half years , where he deepened his knowledge of Aikidō at the Aikikai Honbu Dōjō in Tokyo, among others with Kisshōmaru Ueshiba and Seigo Yamaguchi .
In 1975 he met his future teacher Hikitsuchi Michio . At the request of Hikitsuchi Michio, Gérard Blaize was awarded the 7th Dan in Aikikai Tokyo on April 26, 1995 as the first non-Japanese ever by Kisshomaru Ueshiba .
