Gérard Tremblay (racing driver)
Gérard Tremblay (born July 31, 1950 in Le Mans ) is a French racing car driver .
Racing career
Gérard Tremblay began his sports car career in 1985 with appearances in the French Group 5 championship . In 1987 he joined the sports car world championship for the racing team of his compatriot Louis Descartes . The best place during the period of cooperation was 17th place at the 1000 km race in Spa-Francorchamps in 1988 . In 1989 he moved to Didier Bonnet's team . As with Descartes, it was difficult to achieve countable results with the small underfunded racing team from Bonnet.
In the 1990s he competed regularly in the French Touring Car Championship , where 14th place in 1992 was his best place in the final classification. In recent years he has competed regularly in the French GT championship . He finished the 2015 season in twelfth place overall.
He competed five times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and did not make it into the final standings in all five outings.
