The Polish Voluntary Mountain Rescue Service ( Polish : Górskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe GOPR) is active in the mountain rescue service and nature conservation in Poland . In the Tatras , the independent Tatrzańskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (TOPR) operates as an aid organization in the rescue service. The seat of the GOPR is nevertheless Zakopane .

  • Support of the nature conservation watch and nature conservation councils
  • Support of the funded nature conservation projects
  • Public and youth work in nature and environmental protection

history

The GOPR was founded in 1952 by the forced association of senior mountain rescue services in Zakopane, especially the TOPR. TOPR was spun off from GOPR again in 1991 and has been independent again since then. The GOPR records around 10 missions per day.
