The gömöri trichrome stain is a histological trichrome staining method .

properties

Most of the variants of Gömöri staining consist of a single-stage staining in aqueous acetic acid solution with tungstophosphoric acid , Chromotrop 2R and Fast Green FCF . It is often combined with a hematoxylin stain beforehand. The gömöri trichrome stain is for coloring muscle - biopsies used. The staining solution will degrade over time due to the low pH . Instead of Fast Green FCF, aniline blue can also be used.

variants

The Masson trichrome stain uses acid fuchsin and Ponceau 2R as the red dye and light green SF as the green dye . The Masson-Goldner trichrome stain also uses orange G , but does not contain phosphotungstic acid. The Masson Trichrom & Verhoeff stain is a combination of stains that is used to stain blood vessels and to differentiate between arteries and veins , as the Verhoeff stain stains elastin black.

history

The Gömöri trichrome staining was developed in 1950 by György Gömöri (1904–1957). It is a further development of the Masson trichrome staining .
