Location of Gönnersdorf in Rhineland-Palatinate |
Gönnersdorf is a part of the Neuwied district of Feldkirchen in northern Rhineland-Palatinate .
history
Gönnersdorf was settled early. In 1968, under the direction of Gerhard Bosinski, a world-famous ice age hunter camp from 15,000 years ago was discovered and explored further in the years that followed. The archaeological site , named after the town of Gönnersdorf, is particularly known for its works of art, the engraved slates .
Rockenfeld separated from Gönnersdorf in 1693.
In Gönnersdorf there is also the so-called Beunehof, which was the last building on the farm from a certain Günther / Gunther . The owners were ennobled to knights and were related to the Counts of Hammerstein and related by marriage and inherited Hammerstein Castle after the family died out.
Incorporations
The previously independent community of Gönnersdorf was merged with neighboring communities to form a large community under the historical name of Feldkirchen. The order of the Koblenz district government came into force on August 1, 1966. Feldkirchen belonged to the office of Niederbieber-Segendorf (from 1968 Verbandsgemeinde Niederbieber-Segendorf).
In the implementation of the administrative reform decided by the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament on July 13, 1970, which came into force on November 7, 1970, the municipality of Feldkirchen was dissolved and assigned to the new town of Neuwied. Gönnersdorf came to the city of Neuwied as part of the Feldkirchen district.
