Güçlükonak ( Kurdish : Basê , formerly also known as Haraniferho ) is a Turkish city ​​and district in the Şırnak province in southeastern Anatolia . About 36 percent of the district's population live in the city.

Güçlükonak has been part of the Şırnak Province as a district since 1990 , before that it was part of the Siirt Province. It is located in the northwest of the province and borders the provinces of Siirt and Mardin . The Turkish name Güçlükonak means roughly strong [fortified] hostel . The district also includes the town ( Belediye ) Fındık (2,629 inhabitants) and 19 villages, of which the largest ( Boyuncuk ) has 857 inhabitants. The average population of each village is 304 people. This is the lowest average in the province.

The terrain is very mountainous, the highest peak in the district is the Kale. There is little forest vegetation, which consists mainly of oaks and firs. The largest body of water is the Tigris , which forms part of the district boundary.
