Günter Henrich (cartoonist)

Günter Henrich (born July 6, 1937 in Wetzlar ; † October 20, 2011 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German caricaturist and cartoonist .

Live and act

Günter Henrich was a trained architect . He was an art commissioner and for many years director of the gallery in the tower of the Offenbach energy supply .

Since the 1970s, he was mainly concerned with drawing caricatures and cartoons. He illustrated mainly works by Hessian authors as well as on topics of ecology. He published his works in several cartoon books, in books by other authors and in newspapers such as the Frankfurter Rundschau .

Günter Henrich was also active as a curator . His initiative resulted in the “ApfelWeinKunst” exhibition with works by six Hessian artists, one of which each forms a row of labels on cider bottles. The book ApfelWeinKunst , published by the wine press Jörg Stier, was awarded a special prize by the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels at the 2008 Hessenbuch Prize. In 2009 he curated the exhibition "Komische Kunst" in Seligenstadt.

Günter Henrich lived in Seligenstadt .
