Günter Slotta

Günter Slotta (born August 4, 1924 in Beuthen , Upper Silesia , † June 9, 1974 in Saarbrücken ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Slotta was born the son of a carpenter. After attending school, he went to the Hanover University of Education and then worked as a teacher in Göttingen . He also took a degree in education science, German, psychology, philosophy and sociology at the University of Goettingen in which he awarded the degree of Dr. phil. finished. He then worked as an assistant at the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) in Frankfurt am Main . He worked as head of an institute school in Braunschweig and later became a professor at the Saarbrücken University of Education .

Political party

Slotta joined the SPD in 1962. From 1970 to 1972 he was chairman of the SPD Saarbrücken-St. Johann.

MP

Slotta had been a councilor for the city of Saarbrücken since 1964. In the Bundestag election in 1969 he was elected to the German Bundestag , to which he belonged until his death. In parliament he represented the constituency of Saarbrücken-Stadt.
